Starfleet is the deep-space exploratory and military service of the United Federation of Planets. Its principal functions are the advancement of Federation knowledge of science, technology, and the galaxy, and the defense of the Federation against foreign and domestic enemies. As it is often in contact with non-Federation cultures, Starfleet has a significant diplomatic role; its officers represent Federation interests, and vessels in the service regularly transport ambassadors.

Below is the Commander in Chief report which is the report the Chief looks at every morning of work. This report is being disbursed to you to show you what is currently going on in our universe.

Commander in Chief Report:
1. The high alert status of our fleet in the Delta quadrant remains the same. The current mission of destroying Borg station 34 is still in process.

2. The USS Underwood is now 2 days late reporting in to Command after crossing the Romulan Neutral Zone 7 days ago. A diplomatic talk has been canceled because of the missing vessel.

3. 2 new ships (Aragos, Lola) will be finished and ready for departure in 3 days time. Expect a high attendance levels to the festivals.

4. The Klingon Chancellor is en route to the outer edges of his territory. A possible attack on his ship from various races are plausible at this time.

5. The new defense platform at DS9 is 2 weeks behind schedule. The Bajorian government is requesting more aid from Starfleet to finish the project on time. They estimate that they will finish 6 months behind schedule if help is not received.

6. A new world, Closia, had joined the United Federation of Planets. After immediate singing they have requested fleet aid against a brutal race that has attacked their world.
