Heather had been serving onboard the 9th Legion for 6 months and has an exemplary file. She hoped that there was some kind of mistake. She stood nervously in front of the Captain's desk. "Ensign Dyer reporting as ordered sir," she said with full confidence. "Ensign Dyer," the Captain began. "I have been made aware what you have been doing. When I heard it I can only think 'wow'." "I am sorry sir, but I do not know what you are talking about," Heather already trying to explain whatever it was the Captain thought she was doing it wasn't her. "Yes you do. You have been working hard and you deserve the recognition of a hard Starfleet Officer. That is why you are being promoted to Lieutenant." Heather couldn't believe what she just heard. All this time she was thinking there was a mistake because she thought she was in trouble. But it was all good news, and there was no mistake. She took the pip that was
being handed to her and put it on her collar next to her gold one.
